The red elm owes this nickname to its uniquely enthusiastic production of mucilage, which consists of polysaccharides. It is precisely this mucilage that unfolds its calming effect in the dog’s body by laying protectively over the stomach lining;

Feeding instructions
- Mix 1 to 2 teaspoons of slippery elm bark powder into 100 to 200 ml of water and bring it gently to a boil;
- Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature. For the mucilage to unfold its protective effect, it should be given pure and 30 minutes before meals;
- If the dog is on medication, slippery elm bark may affect the absorption of the active substance.
